Athens airport has all-year-round International flights and is a four hour drive away. Kalamata airport, which operates May to October, is only a 45min drive and operates charter flights from the UK, Holland, Scandinavia and Germany.
We are about a four hour drive from Athens – currently the motorway runs as far as Tripoli, but is soon to be extended. When driving from the new Athens airport, you do not have to go into the city itself, as there is a large ring road.
The KTEL bus service operates from Athens airport to the central bus station in Athens (about one hour). Here you can change to the Athens/Kalamata bus which takes around 4 hours. You can then change for the Koroni bus which takes another hour to Harakopio. (There are also some through buses from Athens to Koroni.)
Ferries from Italy (Venice, Ancona and Bari) dock at the port of Patras, on the north coast of the Peloponnese. Patras is about 3.5 hours by road from Harakopio. Ferries from Kefalonia and Zante come in to Kylini which is about 3 hours by road from Harakopio.
